It's only 20 hours a week. I'll be starting at 11/hr.
Let me tell you why I'm ok with this:
- I am easily overwhelmed in new situations. Working only 20 hours a week gives me the opportunity to learn information and develop a groove without the stress of working such long days. I won't burn out, but instead I'll get excited and be ready to tackle more when the time comes.
- There is the possibility that I can become full time in the near future, provided a couple people get promotions. I am praying they do. :) (feel free to pray for that too.)
- Benefits for WF employees start for those working at least 20 hours a week. So we qualify for benefits, which is so important since ours end on Sunday!
- 11/hr may not sound like much, but it's the highest they can start me at. And in the group interview, we were told that tellers can make 300/mo. in bonuses. That's in addition to hourly rate.
I am still looking for piano and voice students to teach in the evenings to supplement our income even more. But, I have a job!!! And one that I can see myself succeeding and being happy in!
I am so happy for you!! I really think you will be great at this--and so glad you can start slow and work up, that sounds so ideal. Dan and I bank there though, so don't get any ideas about looking at our balances. Okay, I'll spill the beans now...we are POOOOR!! :) Surprise, surprise. Now you can look all you want! :)
ReplyDeleteWHAOOIE! I am so pleased for you! Doubly as you can now get benefits!
