15 minutes of heaven

Hot showers are truly a luxury.

Our home-sweet-trailerhome's hot water lasts around 3 minutes.

My MIL let me shower at their house tonight because I'm a sicky and she felt bad for me, I guess.

It was bliss.

We have electricity for a reason.

We didn't have power for most of the day. Someone ran into a power-line pole thing and knocked out power for only our block.

Wait, let's rewind.

We went to the Bay Area yesterday to see S and D&N and baby Z. Totally awesome!!!!!!!!

Then, I started feeling really sick. Like, congested, sore throat, headache, achey sick.

So I went home and slept instead of staying the night down there.
Woke up today with no power.
Which means no hot shower or anything.
Which went a long way in not helping me feel any better.
But I also couldn't do my hair for church - so I looked and felt gross.
And I couldn't eat anything warm because there was no way to heat it up - so I was starving too.

I did the only thing I could do: went to church wearing slippers, taught my lesson, came home and slept for a looooooooooooooooooooong time.

And then the power came back on at 8:30 at night. :)

Good story, huh?

May your days be merry and bright.

Merry Christmas, blog world.

Christmas here in the home-sweet-trailerhome was wonderful, thanks for asking.
Santa filled our stockings.
We gave each other small gifts.
My parents forgave our debt to them for Christmas.
And D's parents spoiled us with a need, a want, and a treasure.

But ultimately, the greatest gift comes from God. He gave us His son.
And while on Christmas we celebrate His birth, it is His atoning death that makes the day worth celebrating.

So, Merry Christmas to all of you. :)

Home!

Thank God I'm home.
Yesterday, a lady drove through a window at WF. No joke. The front of her van was inside our store. With glass and everything all around.
I was very glad to leave. :)
I have deeper things to post about, but right now it's time to play Bang with the family.

1% improvement

ok, so, today was a little better.

thank goodness for J being there to tell me that I won't lose my job.
because i was really worried.

so, in celebration, i splurged and bought D some (much needed) new clothes. he's in this weird, in-between stage trying to find his new "adult style." but now he has some new clothes (thanks old navy) and looks hot.

if tomorrow goes well, i might splurge on myself.

don't judge me.

i have to look hot for family pictures in OREGON ON SATURDAY!!!!!
slash, i try to buy my own happiness.

thank God for Oregon.

More Crafting

I really wasn't kidding about crafting.

I have photo proof. :)

For Katey, here is one of the banners:
It says "Joy To The World."
And I love it.

Here's my latest project:
You need see-through, decorative stones with a flat bottom, mod podge, and paper.

Print some Christmas phrases (I used the 12 days of Christmas and some Christmas song titles) in whatever font you want. Then cut them into circles because next...

You mod podge the sayings onto the bottom of the glass stone things!

And this is what you get! Decorative stones with really cute Christmas sayings that look great on your table! Super cheap, super easy, super awesome.

Another screw is loose

Yes, yes, I've been neglectful of you blog. I would say I'm sorry, but wouldn't that imply that I intended to make changes? I'll be honest - I'm not ready for that kind of commitment yet. So, I'll stay my inconsistent self and take advantage of the fact that you're the one who's always there for me. :)

Now that I've had a DTR with my blog...

I think I may have lost my mind.

I have been crafting.

And it hasn't been a one-time thing either. It's like this bomb went off in my head or a screw got loose or something giving me this crazy, insatiable urge to craft. I've made 2 Christmas banners (one says "Joy to the World" and the other says "Silent Night" and they're both awesome) and I'm working on a calendar for next year.

What has happened to me!?

Our home-sweet-trailerhome looks like Michael's exploded in here.

Heaven help us.
