Real Adults

Have you ever had one of those moments when you realize, "holy cow, I'm an adult"? I realize that I have been living on my own now for 6+ years, setting my own curfew, buying my own groceries, paying my own bills, etc. Sometimes though I forget that I am an adult, not just a big kid playing house. Yesterday, I had one of those "holy cow, I'm an adult!" moment.

D works at RC Willey in the warehouse. Employees don't get discounts until they've been working there for at least 6 months. D passed that mile-marker a bit ago, but we haven't had any needs for furniture, flooring, appliances, or electronics. Well, I did buy D a surround-sound system, but we didn't need it or anything. :)

RC Willey is having an amazing discount on Sony TV's (and cameras and camcorders) for employees. Again, not something we need, but something that was too good to pass up. Originally we thought we would get a new TV after we got our tax return for this year. You know, were planning and saving and being responsible. Then, our TV started turning on and off by itself, and changing volume, and the remote wouldn't work and then the buttons on the TV wouldn't work and the TV was just being generally possessed.

So, we bought the 46" Sony TV.

And when you buy a new TV, obviously you need a new entertainment center! Especially when your old entertainment center (or amoire) only fits a 20" TV.

So, we bought a new entertainment center.

And when we were unpacking the entertainment center and setting up the TV, I realized "holy cow, I'm an adult!" Making grown up purchases. Living in my own place. With my own stuff. We've only other purchased one other piece of furniture - our dining room table and chairs.

Anyway, here's a picture.
