Please, pardon me while I step back up on my soap box for a little while here.

If you're easily offended by people who don't agree with you, stop reading now.

Ok. Here we go.

I think that Prop 8 would've passed with or without the mormons. I think that no unhallowed hand can stop the Lord's work. He can move mountains if He wants to - He can surely have a law pass. I mean, seriously, He's God. If God wanted Prop 8 to pass, it would've passed, with our without your vote. I think that the Lord was testing our faithfulness. Would we listen to the prophet's voice? Would we do what the Lord asked? This life is, after all, a testing period. And, yes, it will get harder and the fight isn't over or whatever. But the Lord is all powerful. And He's on the winning side. So, I'm pretty sure all of this stuff down here on earth is just a test for us. So do what's right and chill out. It'll be fine.

Secondly - worthiness (not worth) is an issue between an individual and the Lord. If you are not one of those two parties, do us a favor and shut up. Sometimes, a person's actions that cause them to be unworthy can affect other people. If you are one of the people affected, you can say something (like in cases of abuse). But it is not right, in my opinion, for you to judge another person from afar saying things like, "oh so-and-so is so not worthy of a temple recommend if s/he does _______ or because s/he did _______." That is between s/he and the Lord.

Thirdly, since when do we have to agree with everything another person says or does?! You might not agree with Oprah or Ellen or Obama or Romney or Palin or whoever. That's fine. No one said you have to agree 100% with another person. Disagree with them! Fine! But don't go around calling them the devil. And don't spend an hour ripping someone apart - what good does that do? Does it change anything? Does it uplift anyone? No. If you disagree with them, don't listen to them. Thats a great thing to do. But no one said you had to agree with them 100% in the first place so don't be all upset when you disagree with them one time. It was bound to happen anyway. Every person has inherent worth and every person is a child of God and every person has at least one spiritual gift. Your dislike of a person won't change that and your disagreeing with a person won't change that either. So, again, chill.

Life is so much better than we make it sometimes. Seriously. Just do the best you can and chill out. After all, this is the Lord's test for you, not your test for everyone else or everyone else's test for you. You can't make other people's choices, just like other people can't make yours. So just do your best.
