Hello, my name is Landon, and I have curly hair.
I have flat ironed it for years.
I've lost count of the number of straighteners I've burned through.
Occasionally, I wear my hair curly.
But for the most part, I've tried to pass myself off as a straight-haired-gal.
I blogged in September about wanting to be beautiful.
I said, "It's time to start focusing on what goodness I have, to start treating myself with more kindness."
And then I read this blog post from Mama Mandolin and she said,
"I've decided to stop using my straightener completely. Maybe someday
I'll get the urge to straighten again but right now I'm focusing on
loving myself, hair included, the way I was made."
I felt inspired.
It's only been a week, but I'm done flat ironing my hair, trying to change myself into a straight-haired-gal.
I'm embracing who I am and what God has given me;
at least when it comes to my hair.
It's a step.
If you are looking for a good product to help with natural body with no frizz, I am in love with HealthySexyHair serum. It lets my hair have it's natural wave/curl, without looking dry or poofy. I hate straightening because it takes forever, but I like that not using it is a form of accepting your own beauty. Love your posts!
