Real Life

I get to choose just the right words when I'm blogging.  I get to edit and delete what I don't like.
I try to be pretty honest and open about what life is really like for me and my family.
I try not to sugar coat anything or spare you any gritty details.
I try to keep it real.
But sometimes I don't succeed.

However, a picture speaks a thousand words.
So rather than tell you about my real life right now, I thought I'd show you instead.

This is the current state of my kitchen.  It is safe to assume that the rest of the counter-top not pictured looks very similar.  As does the stove and counter-tops on the opposite side of the kitchen.

The pile of laundry at the foot of my unmade bed.  It has been there an embarrassingly long time.

The pile of folded, clean J laundry that hasn't been put away.  Note the ironing board in the background - that thing hardly ever comes out.  But D had to iron his shirt for work tomorrow.  And so there it will stay for who knows how long.

The constantly cluttered bathroom counter.  And no towels hanging up.  They're in the laundry right now, but prior to that, they all found a home on our bedroom floor.

The pile of J's toys.  This is a very minimal pile right now, but only because he didn't want to play today and just wanted snuggles - it's tough to be a teething baby.

That's about as real as it gets.
