So, I'm sick.  

I thought it was just a cold but when it didn't go away after 2.5 weeks and large quantities of over the counter meds, saline sprays, cough drops, sleep, liquids, etc. I figured it was probably time to see an expert.  I went to urgent care yesterday.  I was fully expecting them to say, "it's just a cold, keep doing what you're doing, stop over reacting, and get out of here."

Well, they didn't.

Turns out, I'm really sick!  :(  There's something going around and for 50% of the people who get it, it lasts 6-8 days and then they get better.  For the other 50%, it lasts 6-8 days, goes a way for a couple, and then comes back for 10-14 days.  And then, for the unlucky few, it goes away again and then comes back for a third cycle!  And, because I've had this for 2.5 weeks, after having felt good for a couple days last week, he figured I'm already in the second cycle.  And, I've entered stasis (I don't know what that means, but I do know that because I'm in stasis the bacteria in my nose are going crazy which is why I have a constant sinus headache).  The doc. gave me lots of meds (we're talking I left with 4 prescriptions - including one with codeine.  How happy am I!).  And then, he told me that if I don't get better in a couple of days, I need to come back and have my blood tested because it's possible that something else is going on since the cold hasn't responded to everything that I'd been doing to get well for the last two and a half weeks.  

Awesome.

He then gave me a doctors note to get out of life for 6 days.  Which is awesome, not going to lie.  But, then throw in to the mix my over-active conscious which is making me feel guilty for not going to classes today.  Wah!  And let's not forget about the fact that I started rehearsals for my senior show last night, have another show to get ready for adjudication in a few weeks, have tons of stuff to great, papers to write, homework to do, etc.  Taking 6 days off of life should be relaxing, but it's stressing me out instead!

Damn you, whatever you are that's making me sick.  Go away.  We're not friends.  You're not invited to have a party in my body.  

I think I'm gonna go take some more drugs.
