Leibster Blog Award

My cute-face blog friend Stephani nominated me for a Leibster Blog Award (Thanks so much Stephani!) and I'm so excited!

The Liebster award is given by bloggers to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers.

What is a Liebster?
The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

Here are the rules for receiving this award:
1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2. Answer the questions that the nominator set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you’ve nominated to answer.
3. Choose 11 people and link them in your post.
4. Go to their page and tell them.
5. No tag backs!

So to start, here's
 11 Things About Me!

1. I love Coca-Cola.  And there's a McDonald's just down the street from me.  $1 swigs?  Yes, please!

2. I don't like giving things as gifts and would much rather give things to make memories.

3. I'm kind of a home body.  I love being at home with D and J.  Pretty much the best ever.

4. I have recently taken up running and am running a 5k in November with my momma and youngest sister.

5. I hate onions. I will pick them out of my food - regardless of where I am. It doesn't matter how small they are, I can tell they're in food and I will pick them out.

6. I'm only 5'2" but most people are shocked to realize how short I am, even after they've known me for a long time. I also think that I'm taller than I really am. I guess I just have a tall personality?

7. My favorite TV shows are Arrested Development, Psych, Bones, Top Gear UK, Myth Busters, America's Next Top Model, and Big Bang Theory.

8.  I really want to go to London and New York City and Israel and travel in each of those places for an extended period of time.

9. I think "your mom" jokes and "that's what she said" jokes are hilarious!

10. I hate doing dishes. And I hate cooking in a dirty kitchen. So I don't cook much.

11. My husband is my best friend and I think that's pretty awesome.

Stephani asked me the following questions:

1. What three qualities does your dream house just have to have?
Lots of windows - I love and need natural light.  Lots of big windows are a must for me!
Big back yard - While D and I just have 1 kid right now, I dream of having a big family and having fun playing outside.  Football, volleyball, duck-duck-goose, you name it!
A self-cleaning feature - Ok, this one is kind of cheating.  But wouldn't that just be awesome?
Here's my real third quality: A wrap around-porch.  I adore them.

2. What's your favorite season and why?
I'm going to go with summer because I love all the summer activities!  I love going to the lake and jet-skiing or boating, swimming, staying up late, playing outside, BBQ's, etc.  There's just so much fun stuff to do!

3. If you could learn any language, what would it be (and why)?
I would learn Spanish.  Talk about a seriously helpful language!  I feel like so many people speak Spanish and more doors of communication would open more frequently if I could also speak Spanish.

4. And if you could see anyone (alive or dead) in concert, who would it be (and…why)?
Sara Bareilles.
I adore her.
She writes her own music, is crazy talented, and a blast in concert.

5. What 3 books would you need to have on a desert island?
I'm a little bit embarrassed at how difficult this question is for me to answer...
My Name is Asher Lev
 The Chronicles of Narnia

6. Sum yourself up in…one word. Go.
Happy!

7. What is your favorite lesson you learned from your parents?
How to work!  While this may not be the most fun lesson, it's the one I am most grateful for.  My parents taught me how to work hard for what I want and to take responsibility.  I've encountered too many people (especially my age and younger) who don't know how to work and it drives me bonkers.

8. If you had your own personal all-capable robot, what's the first task you would program it to do?
Cook my meals.
All of them.
Always.

9. In celebration of "The Walking Dead" tonight…what's your plan of action for the zombie apocalypse? :-)
Hide.
D and I have actually talked about this (I married a bit of a nerd) and created a game plan - we would drive up to his buddy and fellow firefighter's house.  He has lots of land and guns.  I would hide up there.  While I don't have much to contribute as far as survival skills go, I figure I can at least keep people entertained!

10. If you could keep any animal for a pet, what would it be?
My pup Izzy is the perfect pet for me.  And I want to keep her for always.

11. If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Dark jeans.  A t-shirt.  A cardigan.  A scarfFlip flops
Oh wait, this is my outfit almost every day already.
